Lamp Repair FAQ
Pricing, turnaround, collection and safety — answered plainly.
Frequently asked questions
How much does lamp repair cost in Brownsville?
Most standard rewires run between $45 and $95 depending on cord length, socket type and whether the base has to be dismantled. Chandeliers and antique restorations are quoted after inspection. We always confirm the price before starting work.
How long will my repair take?
Table and floor lamps are usually ready in three to five working days. Chandeliers, multi-arm fixtures and full restorations take one to three weeks depending on parts.
Do you collect and deliver?
Yes. We collect larger fixtures across Brownsville, Harlingen, San Benito and the surrounding Cameron County towns, and we can arrange island collection for South Padre Island and Port Isabel properties.
Is repaired wiring actually safe?
Every lamp we rewire gets new cord, a new socket, correct polarity, strain relief and a continuity and load test before it leaves the bench.
Do you repair lamps that are not antique?
Absolutely. Modern table lamps, floor lamps, desk lamps and commercial fixtures make up a large share of our work.
Can you match a replacement shade?
Yes. Bring the base or send photos with measurements and we will match fitter type, harp height and proportion.
Do you work on ceiling fixtures and chandeliers still installed?
We prefer bench work for quality and safety. For installed fixtures we advise on safe removal or coordinate with your electrician.
Is there a warranty?
All parts we supply and the labour to fit them are guaranteed for twelve months in normal domestic use.
Do you take card payments?
Yes — card, cash and bank transfer, with invoicing available for commercial clients.
Can you convert an oil lamp or a vase into a lamp?
Yes. Conversions are a regular request. We use no-drill methods where possible to protect the value of the original object.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm. Phone messages left outside those hours are returned the next working morning.
How do I get my lamp to you?
